Fix childhood movement
A Movement to Expose What’s Broken — and Reimagine What’s Possible
Fix Childhood was created for one reason: to challenge the belief that the current education system is “normal,” “necessary,” or “good enough.”
It isn’t.
And deep down, parents already know that.
They feel it every time their child comes home exhausted.
Every time homework turns into tears.
Every time they see the spark dim a little more.
Every time they watch their child spend more hours sitting under fluorescent lights than playing outside, exploring passions, or being a kid.
Fix Childhood exists to give parents the clarity, language, and evidence to finally say out loud what their intuition has been whispering for years:
Something is wrong — and it’s not the child.
a System designed for a world that no longer exists
The modern school model was built in the late 1800s for a factory-based economy: bells, batches, standardization, compliance, memorization.
It was never designed to support:
• creativity
• emotional intelligence
• mental health
• hands-on learning
• identity development
• real-life skills
• or a rapidly evolving technological world
Yet we keep forcing children into this outdated mold and then wonder why they’re struggling.
The truth is simple:
We’re preparing kids for a past that no longer exists — while ignoring the world they’re actually growing into.
The Cost of Staying on the Default Path
Kids today are facing pressures no previous generation has ever experienced:
Record-high anxiety and depression (CDC)
Academic performance at 20+ year lows (NAEP)
Bullying amplified by smartphones and social media
College debt skyrocketing while job guarantees disappear
Attention challenges rising, especially for kids with ADHD
Overscheduled days that leave no time for real childhood
Parents see the symptoms everywhere, but few are naming the root cause:
Children are being asked to spend the best hours of their day in a system that doesn’t reflect how humans learn or how the world works.
No amount of small tweaks is going to fix the structure of a system built for another century.
Parents want more for their children
…. And they should.
Fix Childhood is not about rejecting education.
It’s about demanding better education.
Parents want their kids to:
• feel safe
• be outdoors
• use their hands
• build things that matter
• pursue meaningful hobbies
• develop life skills
• push themselves physically and mentally
• understand technology
• create businesses
• explore passions
• and grow into capable, confident adults
But when children spend 7 hours at school + homework + sports + commuting, there is simply no time left for the experiences that actually build competence, character, purpose, and joy.
The childhood parents want for their kids is incompatible with the way time is currently structured.
Fix Childhood is here to expose that truth — and to start shifting the paradigm.
